AA Binghamton NY Area | meetings

Are AA meetings for you?

Alcoholics Anonymous is a program of a new way of life without alcohol, a program that is working successfully for millions of men and women throughout the world, and in all walks of life. The experience of A.A. members is that alcoholism is a progressive disease that cannot be cured, but which can be arrested — by staying away from the first drink, one day at a time.

The first and most important step in our program is admission by the alcoholic that he or she is powerless over alcohol, and that life has become unmanageable. It is often helpful for the alcoholic to talk with an A.A. member, because it may make it easier to understand the nature of the illness, and to accept A.A. help.

We encourage you to go to the nearest meeting to get further information on Alcoholics Anonymous. A.A. members, as volunteers, are happy to offer help by sharing their experience, strength and hope in staying sober. One of the ways members stay sober is by helping other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

12/03/2021 Update:
Regarding COVID-19 related closings and restrictions, it is the responsibility of each group to suspend or resume their regularly scheduled meetings. Public health measures must be respected.

Groups, please advise TCI of a meeting status change:
schedule@aabinghamton.org

It is important to note the Triple Cities Intergroup is not an authoritative body over our groups, nor does it initiate rules or directives, as each A.A. group and entity is autonomous and decisions are made through its group conscience. Providing guidance on health issues and public policy is outside the scope of the A.A. sharing that TCI offers. For anyone experiencing health and safety questions, it is suggested they contact national, state/provincial and local health authorities for appropriate information.

Local online meetings are listed on our Virtual Clubhouse page. Click here
